Nicole Kovacs (with Vince Pisani) directing "Friends Like Mine"
As someone who is passionate about storytelling, it would only make sense that Nicole would explore many ways of telling a compelling story, both in front of and behind the camera. Nicole has written, directed and produced short films, commercials and music videos.
Her first short film, "Friends Like Mine" (trailer below) has taken home several awards at film festivals around the US. Those awards include, but are not limited to:
Best Short Film (Harrisburg-Hershey Film Festival), Best in Show (Atlanta ComicCon), Audience Choice (WonderRoot Local Film Series), Best Director Short Film (Gwinnett Center International Film Festival, WIFTA Film Festival), Best Female Directed Short (Lionshead Film Festival), Best Actor- Vince Pisani (Gwinnett Center International Film Festival, Lionshead Film Festival), Best "Foreign" Short (Fort Worth Independent Film Festival).
Nicole has since directed three short films, two of which are with her own production company, Wild Palette Pictures. "Inside" and "Model Citizen" will have a summer of 2016 release, while the short film she directed for Jumpcut Collective and Decent Humans, titled "Baby Games", had an early 2015 release. Additionally, she wrote and directed a Doritos commercial for the Crash the Super Bowl competition.
